Welcome to Valproate Victims!

We represent some of the 20,000 people and their families who have been affected by Sodium Valproate (Epilim) taken in pregnancy.

Since the drug was first marketed in 1973 scientists, doctors and campaigners have asked questions about its safety and their work has resulted in a full overhaul of the medicines and devices regulation system.

  • 50% of pregnancies are unplanned (NHS)

  • 30% of people take more than one medicine on a regular basis (NHSBS)

  • It takes 27 years for a medicine to become a known teratogen (IMMDS Review Evidence, R Bromley)

Have you taken a medicine recently?

That’s why we're asking questions.
